Nutrition is the foundation of health

A well-rounded approach towards one’s health and fitness is never complete without some form of nutritional intervention. How we’re fuelling our bodies and the types of foods we choose to eat impact our wellbeing a lot deeper than we would like to believe. There’s a lot more to the story than the simple phrase “It’s about calories in and calories out!”

Instead of running with the popular method of counting calories (macro-counting) we’ve decided to use the approach of becoming an intuitive eater through accessing our nutritional services with our Registered Holistic Nutritionist: Romi Johal.

In this service all clients are booked in for an initial assessment (60 mins) where Romi collects appropriate information and asks in depth questions in order to formulate a holistic plan for you to follow. Once the assessment is complete you will have a 15-20 mins phone call with romi where he goes over your unique list of recommendations (emailed to you) in order to determine the best course of action for implementation of the plan.

What is intuitive nutrition?

Intuitive nutrition is simply being in tune with your body’s natural cues and signals when it comes to eating. This means learning to listen to your body’s hunger signals and honoring them by eating when you are truly hungry instead of eating based on emotions, stress, or other external factors. It also means being aware of how different foods make you feel and choosing to eat more of the foods that make you feel good physically and emotionally.

Why is intuitive eating important?

The intuitive approach to nutrition can be beneficial for everyone. Still, it can be beneficial for those who have struggled with yo-yo dieting, restrictive eating, or other unhealthy relationships with food. When you learn to eat intuitively, you develop a more positive relationship with food and your body, leading to improved mental and physical health.
